Is it normal that i don't think "pansexual" really means anything?

It seems like more people claim they are pansexuals than the amount of people that have ever seen, much less been attracted to, someone that is biologically neither male nor female (of which there have been extremely few documented cases in our history). So they are just saying that they are bisexuals, but they want to use a cooler word that's less mainstream.

Even if they're talking about transgendered people, they still have a biological sex and present as one of the two. "Bisexual" would still apply, I'm pretty sure.

  • It's a meaningless term.

  • I think Pansexual is about including the minority of people who for whatever reason have ambiguous gender. But most bi people would probably not discriminate against such people anyway, so yes 99.99% of the time bi and pan are the same thing.

  • I actually have been thinking along the same lines!! I've been confused with the whole pansexual attraction and have always thought, its more like being bi sexual where u can develop feelings for someone for who they are , not strictly gender oriented .
