  • I didn't have any real life friends until I was 19 and they also lived at a distance so were mainly internet friends but we meet in person as often as we possibly can. That's quite comfortable for me as, like you, I am comfortable alone. I have tried having friends who live near me and wants to hang out unexpectedly and it stresses me out so much I end up cutting them out of my life. It works if the friends who live near me live somewhat busy lives and therefore don't have time to hang out all the time. I even often find those types of friendships to be the absolute strongest because when you do hang out it's so much more special, and knowing that you can go long periods of time without talking to someone at all but still be just as close when you talk again proves how close you really are and that time apart can't make you lose each other. Therefore I see nothing unusual in this - in fact I encourage making internet friends!
I get told a lot that I need to socialize more but it's nothing that I personally need, if I did I easily could.
