Is it normal that i don't miss the twin towers?

Well, to be honest, before those buildings came crashing down, nobody gave a flying fuck about them and those who did openly despised them, because they looked like two ugly and uninspiring cement blocks which was randomly placed in Manhattan. The 1960s were easily the dark ages for architecture.

"Politicians, ugly buildings, and whores all get respectable if they last long enough," goes the saying.

I disagree that nobody cared about them. You look at movies from then, postcards from New York, shows like Friends, they all featured the towers. And plenty of tourists went by that area just to check them out. They were pretty iconic of the city.

To me, they looked good. Although much of their grandeur could be attributed just to their height. But their primary purpose was business, not architecture.

    • Doesn't even come close to the Empire State Building, architecturally speaking and especially not the chrysler building. F**k post-WW2 architecture!

Sometimes I will start to wonder how they are doing but quickly realize they are not there anymore. Then I have this empty, sad feeling.

    • When they opened in 1972, everyone despised them, thinking that they were ruining the NYC skyline. Now when they're gone, people want them back, which is ironic.

  • You dumb fucks! your governments blow em up and blame it on terror. Not that I care if them sand wigers get blown up

Actually they opened in 1973. Obviously you never set foot inside and have little knowledge of their construction or anything else concerning the twin towers.

    • Doesn't matter, the construction started in the 1960s and they are thus a product of the 1960s. No, I haven't seen them in person, but why would i want to? They were just two huge blocks. Nothing interesting to see there. And I do know a lot of their construction and their placement of steel columns, which was pretty revolutionary at the time.

        • Modernist architecture is not beautiful, mate. Especially not the crap from the 60s. Sad times for architecture.

            I do prefer older architecture.

Well yeah, a building is just a building — as long as you’re excluding the part about how many people died. That kind of sucks to say, but it’s your opinion

    • Not just my opinion. The general opinion back when these existed was that they are ugly as hell.

I love oppressive, minimalist architecture. Fuck people and their comfort.

    • The nazi stuff by Albert Speer was pretty damn cool though, I have got to admit that. Stripped-down neoclassical architecture.

I was in elementary school when that happened I didn't really get it back then, I do now but I'm sick of political assholes bring that up for their agendas. So for the most part I really don't care.

To be honest 911 helped with me remembering dates. 9 is now always September. August? 911- 1 month. October? 911 + 1 month.

What was September before then? Constantly changing position in the calendar?

I guess before you had to do all the months in order. Like how sometimes to find where a letter is in the alphabet you got to say the entire damn thing.

If you dont know a con job when you see one.
I dont know anything I could say that would change that.
But look at the bright side.
DHS was created, along with a shitload of written in items you have no knowledge of.
If you honestly think 9/11 happened as broadcast.
Im not sure if I should pity you, or envy you.
    Ignorance is bliss after all.
So you must be VERY happy indead.
    ( yes, indead )
    Brain dead.
