Is it normal that i did not want my mom in the room when i got my iud put in

The other day I got an iud put in. I told my mom that I did NOT want her in there with me when I got it. I think that it a personal thing and there is no need for her to be in there. She said "well I'm going in anyway" I kept telling her NO but she came in anyway. I felt very uncomfortable, violated, and disrespected when she was in there. Please share your opinion.

Your mother was very disrespectful and arrogant and I feel very angry with her on your behalf. She sounds like a total control freak to me.

Normally you can request that no one else can come into the room while you get checked by a doctor. Your mother was crazy, disrespectful and had no consideration for your privacy.

Even older minors are permitted to see a doctor on their own. Well, they are here, anyway. I started seeing my doctor by myself at 15. If you make it clear to the doctor that you do not want your mother present (and I assume that if you're getting an IUD, you're 15ish at the youngest), then they should respect that, even if your mother doesn't.

That's incredibly disrespectful. I'd not talk to her for a while if i were you. It'd let her know that's not acceptable.

Yes, it's normal to feel that way, but who was paying for the proceedure?

That has nothing to do with anything. Just because a parent pays for something for their child, doesn't mean the child is their property. A child still has rights, and an older teen even more so, as they are given more self responsibility.

The whole aim in raising children is to raise independent beings who can function without a parent. You're the one so obsessed with "co dependency" ffs.

Thank fuck you never bred. Not only would your children have hooves, they'd be completely mentally and emotionally fucked.
