Is it normal that i daydream constantly about fictional worlds ?

Since as long as I can remember, I've always loved to daydream. When I get into a new game/book/movie etc, I become obsessed with it, quite literaly
I need to find content about it on internet, anything, and mostly about my favorite characters
until now, i'd say it's possibly normal
but I daydream about being transported in this world, talking with the characters, having relationships with them, even if I know this isn't real
I takes a lot of my time, and I'm scared one day I'll want to favor those dreams over reality

I think it's normal. As long as you make sure not to let your real life responsibilities slip there's no harm in it. In fact I think it's much better to think more in depth about things. It also shows you have real passion, which is certainly much better than being apathetic about everything.

Why don't you just keep this for the night? Like when you're going to bed. So you can stay focus during the day.
I like to create worlds and different realities in my mind, so I do this when I'm in bed.

Yes you can. You need mental discipline.

Tell me about it. Mental discipline is the hardest for me too. And I don't even have ADHD.
            So I imagine for you.

Nope. It's entirely uncommon, but it's a distraction from real life, and can cause you to not live fully in today.

I used to be like that. however I changed, and that hasn't lessened my love for fictional worlds. it's why I watch anime, and play Fantasy Roleplaying Games. I also write stories

in what way do you daydream? I'd like to know some details, for example, I used to do it with music, in the car, or with a white towel over my eyes.

Dude I’m exactly the same! There is actually a condition that has to do with this, but I think it’s just many other reasons combined

Well, it's only maladaptive if it's harmful.

            I know:D..

Also as in harmful like OCD. Should be about the same amount that’s recognized as disorder
