Is it normal that i can't stand greta thunberg?

Tired of seeing her underage, retarded face in the news literally all the damn time. I mean, come on, it's not like she's a climate expert for fucks sake, she's a goddamn 16-year old, who looks like she's 12 for some reason. Nothing but a fucking puppet for the climate lobby. The speech she made at the UN a few days ago was one of the most cringeworthy speeches I've ever heard in my entire life, if you could even call it a speech and not a cringefest. Anyways, this little shit isn't making me wanting to live a more environmentally conscious life, no. She makes me want to do the complete opposite. Today I booked a flight to Tenerife, Canary Islands and I don't feel guilty at all, not even the fucking slightest.

Aspergers is not a mental illness and doesn't affect ones intelligence what so ever unless they happen to have low IQ along with it. It only affects ones social abilites.

+ It's true that you can be easily manipulated when you have aspergers because you want to believe the best of the people around you. You tend to be more optimistic than the regular, often bitter and fake people who'll easily use anyone for their own benefit. Us aspies tend to be more trusting because we are generally more honest, with some exceptions as always. However the climate could be a huge special interest to her thus making her very knowledgeable on the subject and truly passionate for it.
Regardless of wether she is being used to push a certain topic or not she's doing it with passion and at least she's doing something positive. If one disagrees it is simple to just ignore. She's far from the only one wanting to save the climate, she's just the one in the spotlight right now.

        • She has aspergers. People with aspergers are easily manipulated and thus it could be argued that it's child abuse from her parents side for letting her be in the spotlight like this.

"People with aspergers are easily manipulated"

The hell they are. Most every person i've met with aspergers & H.F.A (myself included) are some of the most stubborn/determined people I've ever met. There's no way you'll get me or the one's i've met to do anything we don't want to do without a highly substantial reward, some of them still wouldn't do it not even if you were to punish us.

            • I'm autistic myself, atypical autistic, so I know exactly what you're talking about. Allthough, my diagnosis is far less obvious than those who have aspergers, such as Greta. Not even a comparison. Still, doesn't change the fact that Greta pisses me off to the core.

    • Well, that must be Norway you're thinking of. Denmark, Sweden and Finland don't have oil production. They all gained their wealth through innovation, as opposed to Norway. Denmark has Lego, Sweden has Ikea, Volvo and H&M. Finland has Nokia and Linux. Norway has...Uh...

She's nothing more than an uninformed teenage loudmouth... Shouts about how climate change is bad, barks angrily at country leaders, hates and shames people who travel by plane.
All at the same time, while having a nice transatlantic cruise aboard an exclusive racing yacht built for Rothschild...

Man, I wish my teenage life consisted of skipping school, goofing off with world leaders and riding on multi-million dollar yachts...

She wants everyone to pay a C02 tax, no less than 350 Euros, or whatever a month, an increased vehicle tax, livestock to be slaughtered, to reduce emissions and for us to not fly anymore.
So for the common man - more taxes, more expensive transport, lower quality of life.

Also please ignore that half of the team in charge of that racing yacht had to be flown to the USA for support and then to be flown back to Europe.
But hey, she did a transatlantic run in a racing yacht mostly CO2 free, I say mostly, because the yacht did have to use it's diesel engine on multiple occasions.

Why not start by banning COAL power plants ALL over the world! Why not invest in smart traffic systems that prioritize traffic based on flow. Why not turn off street lighting, when no people are nearby. Why not cover large parking lots, malls and most buildings with solar panels.
Introduce electric buses, make large companies upgrade their fleets regularly to the most fuel efficient models (DHL in Germany for example still has 1990s Sprinters as delivery vehicles, a company worth BILLIONS!)

What about nuclear fusion?! Why is nobody investing in TOKAMAK reactors?! Those things are the future beating hearts of cities, submarines, aircraft carriers, spaceships, space stations and extraterrestrial outposts.

But nah, her logic is to tax regular people like you and me and make life especially hard for car enthusiasts.
Cause let's face it, the only ones destroying the earth are twisted, sick fucks like me that have a few weekend cars with big engines they drive a few times a year... We are the true face of pollution.

It's absolute madness and more and more people are warming up to her craziness. I really don't want to live in a world where I can't visit my parents, have to become a vegan and scrap all of my cars "for the greater good". If that's the future, we might as well die off in a flurry of consumerism and noxious fumes, but at least be comfortable.

If she was really passionate about saving the world, she'd do a campaign similar to what the Ecosia search engine guys are doing, planting trees from revenue money.
Or simply go back to school, get educated and informed and then start brainstorming.

Wah wah wah. I'm so disappointed in humanity that this got upvoted. Greta Thunberg rose to popularity in 2019, asking people to pay attention to what scientists were begging us to do in 1979. If the rest of us had been meeting our obligations as human beings, nobody would know the name "Greta Thunberg" today because she'd have nothing to say. As it is, she's here because the adults of the world have proven over and over again that the lights may be on, but nobody is home.

Climate scientists, and by extension Greta Thunberg, are against coal. Next.

Modern-day fusion produces less power than it consumes. If you love the idea so much, marry it and figure it out. Next.

Revenue-neutral climate taxes reduce the use of greenhouse gases.

If you don't want people warming up to her "craziness", consider offering your own fucking solutions. The only alternatives I've seen so far are idiots sticking their heads up their own asses and pretending climate change isn't real. BTW Ecosia is a nice idea but planting trees isn't going to get us out of this mess.

She's not claiming to be an expert, she's literally pointing to the experts and saying to listen to them. All of the figures she cites are from official IPCC reports, not her own work. We have been ignoring those experts for over 30 years so clearly the fact that she's young and not an expert is not the real reason people like you don't want to listen.

I feel bad for the young lady, especially when I think of the parent(s) that must be behind this and her, she never had a chance.

It's not Greta's fault for being put into that position and as such you shouldn't blame her. Blame the people who got her to speak or her parents for agreeing to let her speak.
