I'd say it's normal. I've even had dreams that I have found myself waking up crying, and while I can't really remember what they are about, thinking back on them I can still feel the sense of sorrow, like something really bad happened and it made me sad.
I actually have one dream I could remember so well when I woke up, I wrote the whole thing down on paper....and who know...if I find a good animator some time who is into kind of dark, macabre type stuff, maybe it will get made into a creepish, short animation. Remembering parts of it still makes my skin crawl, and I wasn't even /in/ the dream...more like I was watching it play out.
I can also remember at least one really silly dream that even now, I still feel a sense of wanting to giggle when I think of it.
So I think this is normal. I don't know about out of body, but some of us have very creative minds that are good at coming up with things, and replaying strong emotions into our dreams.
IIN that I can't forget this nightmare?
