Is it normal that i can’t stand people who bury their face in their phone

I hate walking on the street and nearly colliding with someone because they are attached to their phone screen. I was on the train and a girl next to me missed her stop because she was scrolling through Instagram, but she was upset about it.

An alarming portion of the population are utter idiots. You just have to accept that.

The other thing that I think is incredibly stupid is wandering around - and particularly running or cycling - with buds crammed in your ears and your chosen soundtrack for the day blaring away and blocking out the sounds around you.

Ear buds are the worst because people are utterly oblivious. At least with a phone you can tell at them.

Don't worry, they're the first to go when some maniac goes on a shooting rampage. Everyone else falls to the ground or runs at the first gunshot, while the idiots stand there listing to Slipknot at full volume and checking their Twitter feed.

If needed, I can text and walk better than most dickheads around me can walk without doing anything else. I never run into people because I am always hyperaware of where I am and whether I am in someone else's way. When I'm not texting, or even when I am and haven't stepped to the side til I finish, I frequently have to step out of the way of self important douchebags barreling through the crowd with no concern for others. That or get barreled into when side stepping would mean bumping someone else.

I've found they're more likely to do this when you're pushing a pram. And even more so when you're pushing a wheelchair. That pissed me off no end.

Self absorbed people are pieces of shit. The being on the phone thing is irrelevant, it's the behaviours and attitudes of entitlement of the person behind it.

Missing a stop through inattention can happen regardless of phones - other distractions such as reading, daydreaming, or even being engaged in conversation with others, can cause it to happen, too.

Only brainwashed people stare at a screen that much.

The entire millenial generation does that.

A lot of millennials I know reject this phone centric way of being.

They like to be counter culture.

You can't judge everyone just based off their age.

This. It's pretty funny how middle agers who never leave their screen assume millenials must be even worse than they are.

It never occurs to them that we see how stupid they look and rebel against their behaviors.

I don't know if I am millennial or post millennial but it still applies.

I thought you had worked as a stripper and made enough to retire and buy a farm out in the country and your goat died or some shit?

You sure have lived a full life, especially for someone who is too young to legally buy alcohol.

I'm too old to be considered millenial but I don't hate that generation, or any other. I am a staunch supporter of the individual and I think making blanket negative statements about entire generations inevitably means you're wrong in most instances.

However to those that ARE engrossed in their phones most of the time (as some are) I do agree that it's probably unhealthy, but then again that could just be me getting old and not understanding the mindset of younger people. I have no idea what it's like to be a young person today.

yeah, instead of moving out of their way just stop in your tracks adopt a firm stance with one shoulder stocking out. In the event of a colison it is the other persons fault because they walked into you as you were stationary .

I so wish cell phone scramblers were legal. I would have them anywhere near me just so people have to pay attention.

Lmao!!! I feel you but I be on my phone a lot but I can pay attention and be focus at the same time. Instead people cancel out the whole world for a phone. I also hate when people say they will die for they phone I be like, “This phone ain't worth my life”. If that was the case then your life ain't worth shit tbh.

I call the 'Tech Zeds' pretty much braindead and void of general awareness beyond their screen. Sadly it's very common in the city i live. (I sometimes "Accidentally" barge phones out of peoples hands on busy days n roads im an asshole sue me bruh)
