Is it normal that i bite my nails until they bleed?

Yesterday, I was biting my nails. This is what I usually do every day, but this time, I had a hang nail. I pulled that hang nail off with my teeth until the skin that was attached to it came off as well. Then, it started bleeding where I just pulled the skin and nail off. I just went to bed and thought nothing of it. Today, I woke up with that same finger being red and sore. It also feels hot to the touch and really tender. I think my finger is infected. Whenever I keep that hand still, I can feel my finger throbbing. I rubbed a lot of hand sanitizer on it until it wouldn't even sting anymore. Then I put some Curad (bacitracin with zinc) on it covered it with a bandage. It feels better now that I covered it with some medicine. It is also no longer being exposed to air or lint, so it feels protected. I showed my mom and she told me I was psychotic.

You aren’t Psychotic, it’s Anxiety, and a way to coupe with your Anxiety, though it is problematic since it causes Bleeding

Don't worry I bite my nails as well and the same thing happens to me. I know which fingers are the ones that always bleed so I tend to bite them in a way to prevent the bleeding.
