Is it normal that i believe that suicide and euthanasia should be legal?

No one should be forced to continue living a life in which they're either very unhappy/unsatisfied or very ill. People say that if a person takes their life, it's "selfish" and "cowardly". The real selfish ones are the ones that want to dictate what others do. I believe that it's brave and honest of what that person wants. No one has the right to prevent someone from ending their own life and not allowing others to help that person end it by euthanasia.

This life is a shitty, bleak, cruel, and nearly completely pointless endeavor that most people are too afraid to leave. It's tough being alive for everyone. As long as they don't take anyone with them, there is no stupid or bad reason for wanting to kill themselves (in my opinion).

How can you make suicide illegal? How can you get in trouble if your dead? I'm confused.

I'm in favor of death penalty for suicide!

You mean attempted suicide...? Because you can't exactly kill a person that is already dead...

An attempted suicide may not always work.

it already is legal. I hate it though because the person doesn't realize people do care and they are not a burden.

  • Hey guise, let's make suicide illegal! LOL, that'll stop'em! If they're not afraid of death, they'll TOTALLY be afraid of jail! HAH!

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

That quote is unfortunately an ignorant one.

I can see where one might want to presume it's ignorant with regard to terminal illness or vegetative states, but I respectively disagree with you in regard to psychiatric conditions.

I myself have made attempts on my life three times and by the grace of God I'm still here. I live with a personality disorder, depression, anxiety and I've recently developed chronic myofascial pain, irritable bowel syndrome, high blood pressure, sleep apnea and hypothyroidism, but I'm still alive and kickin! I've seen a multitude of different therapists and didn't start getting the proper therapy until I was 39 years old and had hit an all time low! Please hang in there, it does get better. A local priest introduced me to my current therapist who specializes in working with people who have my particular challenges. When I was 28 I had a gun to my head and at that very moment my landlord knocked at my door which gave me a jolt, because she had no way of knowing what I was about to do behind that door. She was, in that moment, my angel! If that wasn't a huge sign from God then I don't know what is!

What I think is really ignorant is the way some people label the suicidal person as selfish or a loser! I honestly don't think someone who's never contemplated or attempted suicide can ever begin to comprehend how much pain a suicidal person experiences. I dunno, maybe those people have lost a loved one and had to clean up the mess, but I think their entitled self righteous attitude is nothing, but negative and not worth a dried up old pile of dog poo!

I dunno if you specifically are suicidal or depressed, but things can and do get better. Please don't give up hope if you're struggling. If you are I would honestly be happy to pray for you and your struggles.

Despite my medical and psychiatric challenges I do intend to renew my gym membership, I just started taking a computer class despite the fact that it can be intimidating and I haven't taken any classes since I was in college over twenty years ago. I also hope to do some volunteer work at a clinic that helps women in crisis pregnancies here soon. As long as there's air in my lungs I figure I will continue to fight with my Siamese cat by my side. Hang in there, partner, I wish you all the best and God Bless.
        ;-)

I'm in total agreement with you IF the person wanting to commit suicide pays a fee in the neighborhood of us$2000.00 to pay others to clean up the mess the coward left behind.
The body has to be disposed of, that person's belongings, car, etc. The living space must be cleaned, possibly even repainted before it can be rerented. Nobody wants to do all that shit for little money, so if you wanna check out, it's gonna cost you. Fair enough?

So you are an irresponsible asshole who wants to leave a mess for everybody else to clean up, just because you don't have the courage to face your life?
Why shouldn't you have to pay for the mess you leave behind?
Don't be a coward here and call me a cunt, without backing up your childish words with your thoughts on the subject, if you actually have any.

I'm a compassionate, empathetic and decent human being whereas you are a fucking cunt craving attention on the internet. How can someone be that stupid at such an old age? You're supposed to be experienced.

How can you call yourself "compassionate, empathetic and decent human" when obviously your compassion is for the cowards and losers who kill themselves and not for the poor people who have to clean up the mess left behind?
You are just an asshole who thinks it has all the answers, but hasn't yet figured out the simplest facts of life; like why would anybody feel entitled to leave a mess for others to clean up. Are you one of those who feel entitled, but hasn't done fuck all in life to deserve it?

I see, so YOUR compassion is limited and you assume mine is. It's funny how you talk of entitlement when you're the truly worthless. Let's be honest, all you do is sail and rave on a website. Thank God you don't have long left, that's all.

I didn't know suicide was illegal , who is held accountable when they die? I suppose I can agree , people should have a choice in life but I think also some cases are different where it was a temporary depression or something that could have been avoided . I wouldn't gladly welcome suicide as an option but I wouldn't trash their name for doing so depending how they did it .. I suppose it feels different to know and love the victim or not know and love them as well so its a debatable subject .

Just look at the thousands of teens killing themselves across America, most for little to no reason. I personally know of one who drank bleach because she was being called fat.
Part of me wants to say the world needs less idiots, but all of this nonsense really isn't necessary. Obviously, making suicide illegal is pointless but it needs as much discouragement as we collectively can throw at it.

So you read that someone was called fat and drank bleach. Why does that mean it was the reason they killed themselves? Your ability to know people's life story after reading one article is remarkable.
