Maybe you live in some weird, alternative universe where everyone you know is indeed constantly thrilled to be alive, confidently striding forward into a bright future and filled with joy at how everything in their meticulously planned lives is neatly falling into place.
Or maybe you've just fallen into the delusion of believing that the front people present is the truth of what's happening in their lives and what's really going on in their heads.
People have always lied to others about how well they're doing and how happy they are. This is why it's a cliché how people are shocked when someone they know commits suicide. It often seems to come out of the blue, but the reality was that the person they saw as happy and successful had actually been struggling for years.
Social media has made this much worse. It's so easy to curate what you present to the world so others see only the positive aspects of your life, and there's a constant pressure to one-up everyone else.
The reality is that the only people who don't suffer from self-doubt are psychopaths, and the only people who are satisfied with their lives are those who have found a way to accept and cope with whatever crap life throws in their direction and to keep on moving forward towards a more positive place.
We live in a society based on competition, but constantly comparing yourself to others is a very negative habit. Everyone you know has their own way of viewing the world, their own goals and their own definitions of success and happiness, and none of those have to be the same as yours. Stop worrying about how others are doing or what they think about you, figure out what you need to be happy in yourself and make it a rule that you'll always do at least one, small concrete thing every day to get you closer to whatever your goal is.
IIN that I am so behind in life compared to everyone else?
