Is it normal that i am easily influenced by an online buddy?

I have a friend on the internet that's 9 months younger than me. He's homeschooled. Or, more like unschooled. I've talked about him before. Recently, after sharing some weird stories I had from third grade, he suddenly starts considering not to be friends with me. Granted, I've drawn porn of his characters, disrespected some of his other friends, bullied him nonstop 3 years ago (even though I regret it), and got irritated with him when he didn't share personal info, but I still want to be friends with him. It's actually only happened once where he stopped being friends with me. I treated it like a big breakup from a couple, which I was just crying to myself and eating a lot. He started being friends with me again the following day to stop the drama.

I'm kind of getting off-topic.

Point is, he just says he's starting to reconsider being friends with me, and I just sit and stare at the computer monitor, reconsidering my life choices that brought me to that particular point. I seriously value this friendship that I have with him. My brutal honesty just tends to rub him the wrong way. Am I normal?

  • Wow.. I'm just amazed that he's kind enough to be friends with you when you bullied him before. No sarcasm or mocking tone intended. It honestly just makes him sound like a sweet kid.

Yeah, this seems normal. I guess if I lost a friend there's a chance of me to treat it as a break up, too - that really depends on the friend I would lose, though. On another note, please treat him well from now on. He seems like a sweet kid to even give you a chance.

    • The thing is, out of the blue earlier today he said "We're not going to be friends anymore."

Welp, I lost all purpose in life.

  • This is not normal. I think you should see a therapist, tell them everything you have written here and put a serious effort into changing.
