Is it normal that i am an adult and i cannot sit through long lectures quietly?

I attend college and I understand that I must sit through lectures but I am finding that I learn better more outside the classroom than sitting there listening to material I just read and understand. I much prefer online courses for this reason and I don't interrupt anyone else in the process. I have had professors tell me not to interrupt the course couple of times but I am just to the point I don't want to show up for the reason I can't sit still during a lecture.

Is It Normal?

  • If you are actually getting comments from professors that you are disrupting class, that is NOT normal.. it is one thing to be fidgety but another to be disruptive.

Learn to knit - seriously, it helps. It keeps you moving in a small non-disruptive way. It really helps me pay attention as well.
