Is it normal that i am afraid of fortune cookies?

I'm afraid of them because I have had bad experiences with the fortunes they give me kinda sorta coming true. This one time, I got one that said "A pleasant surprise is in store for you!" and I got a mini-stroke later that evening. One of them told me that "a new romance is about to blossom!" and all I got out of it was a stalker. I know it sounds superstitious, but I have vowed to never eat another one of those things as long as I live.
