Is it normal that i always tend to cancel plans on people at the last minute?

I don't really know why I do it, but like at first I make plans with my friends, get permission from my parents and everything, excitedly talk about them for a few days, but like around a day before I start to really don't feel like going now. I usually think that it'll be boring or that it's a bad idea and that I rather stay home and do nothing instead, so I tend to make up random excuses and never actually end up going out. Is it normal feeling like this?

I do the same all the time I think it might be because we think too much about it?

I even make plans that day for the same day and end up canceling because I can't be botherd to do it anymore lol!

I live with my boyfriend and he and I do things together all the time but I'm the same way with my friends, always have been. I have phases where I go out with friends and party a few times a week and then I can go weeks without making plans or making plans and cancelling. Maybe it's just being lazy, maybe it's what diddlyo said above, maybe the truth is that my friends and i don't really have the same idea as fun or maybe it's anxiety.....all I know is that my friends don't like it.

I do that too. Except I'm 22 and live with my husband. I'll make plans with a friend and for a while, I'm honestly excited! But for some reason or another I get nervous or anxious and decide I would rather stay home instead.

I think you should force yourself to go out with them, its only a matter of time before they feel way too disappointed and not bother. I don't want that to happen to you.

a lot of people expect too much and end up getting disappointed when things don't follow through. what you do is you end up comparing what you want it to be like. but in the end it's good to not get too hyper about something-- you never know what could happen, and just go with the flow.

I'm the same way. I try to hangout with friends and end up having an anxiety attack on the way over. Try meditating before you cancel. You might get the guts to go.

    Sounds like anxiety.

Sometime when you get those feelings and you just want to bail-- force yourself to go.
