Is it normal that i’m a woman and don’t support some of the woman’s libbers ideas?

I hear other women talk about women’s lib and activism and sometimes I just don’t get it. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely support equality by gender. But, what’s with things like bra burning way back when to express freedom and now blaming men for the fact we women wear makeup and buy more clothes. Seems every guy I know likes me better braless with less makeup on and hanging in jeans and a comfy tee. I think it’s really us women competing with other women causing the deal with beauty “enhancing” products. I wish we could be more like guys and be more natural appearance-wise and not fall for the push to buy new styles every year and rebuy our wardrobes. It’d save us a load of money and time! What do you say ladies?!?!

Nobody ever burned their bras, that was made up by a reporter and a woman reporter at that.

I'm a 70's Women's Liberationist and sometimes I wear a bra and sometimes I don't. I never wear one at home and I find most of them extremely uncomfortable anyway: I have large breasts and the pressure on the straps puts my neck out.

I very very very occasionally wear a tiny bit of foundation.

I think you're taking a very superficial viewpoint anyway: Women's Liberation was and is about a lot more than makeup and bras. To give only a few examples, how about fair treatment for rape victim/survivors; child sexual abuse; women's refuges; female genital mutilation; reproductive rights? I'm old enough to know what the world was like for women and girls in the 50's and 60's and I'm very glad it's not like that for my grand daughter and for you too.

Your post is like the female equivalent of men who pretend to be feminists in order to get laid. #notlikeothergirls

My choice of clothing, and cosmetics is for myself, and myself alone.

I don't wear make up and most times no bra. That's because I have littles tho. A cup. If I had big ones I might.

Anyway fuck women's lib b.s. just be comfy.

  • I don’t do anything appearance wise for anybody. I put makeup on only if I have the time and want to do it which means most days I go natural and either way doesn’t matter to me. Not gunna lie some days I want to put some on and take more time getting ready but I only do it because I feel like doing it. I sure don’t do it to compete or try and impress anyone. I also don’t see how clothes are related to guys at all or the fact of wearing bras. I wear a bra almost all the time I’m fine without but sometimes it’s really uncomfortable and trying to sleep without one I feel like they’re just flopping around everywhere getting squished. Lastly me buying my wardrobe is more jeans and sweatshirts. So for the most part I agree here.

And it is always the ones who know the least about a subject who post about not agreeing with the same subject. In this age where information is at the click of a mouse it is a shame not to do some research.

Ellena has replied so I don't think there is much to add to what she has already said.

    Sometimes I forget makeup exists.

I didn't know what to buy my very girly aunt for her bday. So many colors and shades.. powder, liquid, spray, creme, foam, pens, pencils.. 50 brushes in all different shapes. My God.

I ended up leaving the makeup section and just buying her a 12-pack of nail polish.

I should probably stay out of this one, but I’m sometimes floored when I’m with my gf as she buys make-up. That stuff’s expensive!! And she knows I like her better without it (and braless 😉).
