Is it normal that anytime anyone says my name i get a wave of happiness?

I don't know I guess I don't think many people like me or know me for that matter. So when someone says my name I just feel good. This isn't sounding narcissistic I hope... I hope I am not a narcissist for feeling this. I don't quite like myself and I figure other people don't either... Or when they say my name a lot of the time they ask me for help or something so I like helping people and I don't get to do it that often because no many of the people I know need help. I am kind of getting off topic. So yeah, do you sometimes get tingles or a wake of emotion when someone says your name? :)

Is It Normal?

  • I have done some sales training for certain jobs I've had, and the instructors always told the salesmen to say the costumer's name a lot because it makes people feel good.

    I agree with that theory....and it's normal. (:

  • Yeah. But if my mom says my name I get dissapointed because shes usually bitching about something.

  • Yes, I think (or at least hope) that it's normal. I do this too. I think it may be because not many people say my name. So when I hear it, it makes me really happy. I feel closer to someone when they use my name. So yes, it brings out some kind emotion in me too. Like I said, I think it's because I don't hear my name much. So when I do, it really gets my attention.
