Is it normal that after smoking a cigarette you can't get an erection as fast?

I've noticed that after one cigarette smoked my erection is aggravated for maybe 20 minutes.

    Nicotine is a vasocinstrictor (causes blood vessels to constrict), thereby decreasing blood flow..and increasing blood pressure. This is why people develop eventually high blood pressure with smoking too. Additionally, nicotine is a stimulant and to get an erection you need blood vessels to dilate (this is called a parasympathetic response), stimulants constrict not dilate so this works against you. Medical school was good to me.

    Yep. Smoking reduces blood circulation, especially if you do it often

    tobacco is made with radioactive fertilizer. they make it unhealthy on purpose. doesn't surprise me that it's hard (no pun intended) on your erection.

      Nope all good haha,

      The obvious advice would be to quit or cut down but as someone who regularly fails to give up I know how hard it can be, I was planning to mention visiting your GP or doctor but they'd just say the same thing, in fact I went to my gp for something unrelated but as soon as he found out I smoked all he talked about was quitting

        I am not a regular smoker. It's know that nicotine thickens your blood, maybe cuz of that. I still feel dizziness after smoking a cig.
