Is it normal that after auditioning with a song, i can't stand to listen to it?

Whether it's for a musical or a group or something else, I have a long list of songs I've performed for auditions. And when these songs come up when I listen to my iPod, I skip them because I can't stand to listen to them. They just bring back bad memories of me being unhappy with the audition. I'm never happy with an audition. Anyone else experience this? (Not just singers, band players perhaps?)

Is It Normal?

  • That's happened to me before, drives you crazy!! You just have to learn to let it go and accept the fact that were all human, it's literally impossible to do everything perfect! Look for the beauty in human error :)

  • No actually. I was a singer in a band for a while and I still love all the covers we did.

  • Musicals? It's okay to be gay.

  • I got really stoned this morning, turned on the stratocaster and played the same chord over, and over, and over, and over, for half an hour.

It puts you in this incredible trance, my mind is numb......

  • Whenever I get the same song stuck in my head I just listen to it a few times and it's gone.

  • Oh i know exactly how you feel ! Delete those songs if they bring back bad memories. Chances are you won't want to listen to them ever again.

  • If you used a song to audition, you had to listen to it over and over again, and often you'll get sick of it, so I think that it's normal, since I'm the same way.
