Money isn't everything. Is ALL the guy did "just take care of their kid"?
Not saying he deserves fully 50% of what she earned, but it's not like he did nothing.
It is normal that divorces split 50% down the middle without a prenup. Just because there is a lot of money involved doesn't mean that changes.
I personally advocate prenups, because who the hell wants to divorce somebody and deal with mountains of court paperwork on top of that? Just figure it out earlier on.
'People'(the one who could do well in a divorce) don't like prenups because many of them are entering the marriage knowing there will be a divorce and want free money if things dont work out and if they do workout many of these people (the ones who wont accept a prenup) will get a free ride if the divorce doesn't happen . Mostly they are marrying above their station.
People who do prenups have a lower divorce rate; and also have cleaner divorces when they do, as a number of issues are resolved at the prenup stage should there be a break-up.... Assuming that the prenup was done right (is valid) and that both parties lived by it while married.
I did a prenup before marriage. We both had separate lawyers (hers cost more than mine did); and while we defined some things in advance, we left other things to be decided if we got divorced.
IIN that Adele has to pay half of her wealth 2 her husband in their divorce
