People with dicks can be dicks, and dicks don't need any excuse to do dickish shit.

Nobody should have to put up with harassment on the street, and I completely understand and support women who respond to this crap in an assertive way, but it seems to me that it's most often attention-seeking behaviour. And just as the best response to a three-year-old throwing a temper-tantrum because they want attention is to ignore the little bastard, so the best response to infantile, attention-seeking men is to refuse to acknowledge their existence. Which, of course, is not to say that you don't need to be very aware that basic dickishness can escalate into something very unpleasant if the dick doesn't get the attention he believes he's entitled to by virtue of his dick.
