Is it normal sleeping in gives me nightmares?

I dont dream very often anymore or at least nothing I can actually remember if I do. However when I sleep in too late I get nightmares. I wake up at 6 every morning and waking up later tends to screw with my body and my brain.

Is It Normal?

  • Waking up and then falling back asleep will cause dreams almost without fail....not sure why urs are nightmares but mine typically are too.

  • OP isn't trying to resolve the situation, he's just asking if anyone else has nightmares when they sleep in.

  • You probably just remember the dreams before you wake up better.

  • Then why not sleep early? Even when you think negative you can normally have nightmares.

    • Giving myself more nightmares is not what I am aiming for.

  • Set your alarm then, so you don't sleep in

    • It is amazing that OP did not think of this solution earlier.

      • I already have an alarm. I wake up at 6 every morning.

        • So do you sleep through it or what? You link the problem to sleeping in, but I wouldn't call waking up at 6 am every morning sleeping in

          • Yes, I have slept through it before. Usually when I click snooze and say five more minutes but its usually more like two hours. Why I usually just force myself up at 6

            • Look into whats called "sleep paralysis" I get it, don't like it. It can be corrected by having a consistent sleep pattern. Waking and sleeping at a regular schedule and limit stress will correct the problem
