If that was the OP's intent than he/she should have said homosexuals and not "same sex marriage". Because same sex marriage clearly means marriage between people of the same sex. And there are many laws against it in many countries around the world including the US where there are state laws and state constitutions that strictly prohibit it. Ateast until June when the Supreme Court overturns them.
The problem is that marriage is supposed to be a legally binding contract and same sex marriage is not recognised under the law...which means there are no protected rights as a spouse: no joint tax returns, no financial protection in the event of a "divorce," no ability to make medical decisions regarding the spouse...or even access to medical records. As a non family member you wouldn't even be allowed to VISIT your spouse in the hospital if he/she were in a critical accident...
...Not to mention many other rights that aren't recognised when the marriage isn't considered legally binding...THAT is the problem.
