I am a theft prevention officer at an upscale store.I see this woman slide two leaves of basil out of a pkg of basil and put 2 leaves on her salad. The cops didn't arrest her but we told her she is banned for life from all stores. She said she was sorry she didn't think it was a big deal since the salad is weighed and she paid for it.She seemed to not have a sense of humour about this at all. A cashier also told me this woman was acting drunk or like she was on drugs but the cops said she was she was not drunk and the cashier never showed up to identify her.We can't find this happening on tape.I don't get how a person could be so stupid and not know this.Like why would you risk going to jail over aromatics?I don't understand why the store didn't have her arrested and just banned her for life.

    People are losing their morality, and once that is gone there will be no right and no wrong. Dont come with cheap morality like "dont harm others" or shit like it because that is not how it works! Thank you progressivism

      Isn't "don't harm others" the basis for most morality? Self-defense or defense of property is an exception, though.

      If you have basic empathy, you'd not want to steal, because you know how much it sucks to be stolen from.

    Over some basil leaves, you were expecting the cops to arrest her? Basil leaves easily cost 5 cents each!
    Did you guys say "Thou art banished for the rest of your natural life!"
    So lemme ask - how would you guys know if she shopped at another location? Do security people monitor each person stepping through the door?

    Something they probably didn't mention though when you got hired - they are not going to waste time on law suits, arrests, tear gassing, clubbing, or any of that over a matter of a couple dollars. It is not worth it.

    I do not steal shit from stores but yes, people do petty theft all the time.

    She sounds like an entitled bitch, because regardless of whether or not her salad is being charged by weight she would still be stealing from whoever might buy that basil had she not been caught. I hate thieves, they are scum.
