I think Valentines day is a total con. I just see it as an excuse for shops to charge extortionate amounts of money so that couples who are blinded by love can buy eachother flowers, fat-saturated caffiene, and blocks of sugar to send them to heart-attack central.
Is it normal?
It’s absolutely nothing but a fucking bullshit money making con. The people who fall for it are idiots.
I don't see the issue with celebrating valentines. It's not like you're brainwashed or following some evil agenda... you're just having fun, how would that make you an idiot?
Because most places like hotels, restaurants etc have a premium added for no other reason than because they can and if you’re stupid enough to pay it just because the date is Feb 14 then there is no other way to describe you than brainwashed or idiot. Go on the 13th or the 15th and save $$$. Makes way more sense. Valentine’s Day is just a made up commercial money maker for suckers.
Well if you’re really in live you don’t do what you’re supposed to do snd go to some soulless fancy restaurant and get some bullshit meaningless present. You take the day to really go all out and show how much you love your partner in a way that is personally meaningful and significant which doesn’t involve money.

Everything is a con to make you spend money. That is how our economy works. You just need to decide where your values lie and which battles you plan to fight.
I see both sides of it.To be honest most holidays are created to bring in money to the corporate mechanism as businesses and government benefit from more money in the economy.However knowing this I would still celebrate when I have a woman. I like doing nice things for my girl and showing her how much she means to me. Not that Valentines day is the only day I'd do that though.
It is totally a commercialized holiday and makes those who dont get the attention extra bitter and cranky, but that doesn't mean you cant be the one to dish out some extra love, even if on one is giving back.
Meh I think Valentine's Day is an annoying commercialized holiday, but since my boyfriend enjoys it I celebrate it with him. I buy him gifts, go out to a restaurant with him, and we have a good time.

I love valentines die. Even Easter. It's all wonderful. I cant fuvking stand christmas, birthdays, Thanksgiving and all that other smack though

Marks and Spencer is a long-established chain of slightly up-market department stores and their food is good quality and generally pretty good. They first offered the sausage-heart last year, and it got a lot of attention in social and traditional media. I'm sure that's what they hoped for from the moment the concept was pitched in some corporate marketing meeting.
