On the other hand, you have lots of older people helping younger people. Teachers, counselors, coaches, volunteers, mentors, all kinds of clubs, camps, workshops, charities. There's many, many services for children and young people.
We make laws meant to protect children, we have programs like WIC and free/low cost prenatal care to promote healthier babies, we try our best to make sure poor children get food. My point is, as a nation the US obviously cares about our children, we do want to see them healthy and successful. Some older people may be mean or impatient with younger people but that doesn't mean as a whole that we don't care about kids. It's pretty insulting to all these older people who work so hard on kid's behalf to act like they don't exist just because 'some' older people say some rotten things.
