Is it normal not to use the predictive text when typing something in a search engine

Whenever I'm typing something into a search engine, and whatever it is I'm typing will appear under the search bar before I'm finished typing it (sometimes as soon as I've started typing it), I won't click it because I want to type it out fully instead. If the predictive text shows my question when I've almost finished typing it, then I think that I may as well finish typing it all out now. But sometimes even if it appears straight away, I'll still waste a couple of seconds typing it out fully myself instead.

Predictable text is limited to knowing only 1500 words and if you know more than one language, it gets screwed up easily. For me, that is a useless feature.
