  • Yes its normal that about 10% of the population really need to buy tailored clothing to have them fit right.

I have a tall torso and have a problem with dress shirts. I have always needed a tailored shirt to have it fit right (I learned that when I was an official at the Olympics, had to have all my measurements submitted (the men's shop I purchased dress clothing was willing to do the measurements and fill out the form, including some notes); and when I showed up at the Olympics they had 2 special tailored dress white shirts for me. What a difference.

I have looked at dozens of brands of dress shirts - and none of them fit right. I just wear what kinda fits for daily wear as tailored shirts tend to be pricey (I have a few for dress up occasions).

      • Check out people who do alterations. The better ones also do wedding and other event clothing... and could easily modify existing slacks and other clothing to fit you better. A lot cheaper than buying fully tailored clothing made from scratch.

I wish you well with this...
