Common sense would be that most children do NOT pay rent, so unless it is so stated, I tend to assume they don't. At any rate, if someone lives in someone else's home, they should abide by the rules of the home owner, or leave.
if they seem a bit off the wall or overboard, does that make the home owner ill? I don't think so.
