Is it normal my mother thinks she replyed back?

I've noticed this for a long time now but today it happened so blatantly I had to ask you.

I asked my mom if I could eat something. She was working on the computer and didn't answer me, so I asked her again. She replied "Yes, I already told you can.... Did I?". I said "No, you didn't reply", and she just continued working.

Should I be worried?
