I've known her for years and in all that time I've only ever known her to be seriously horny once. She tries to keep me happy which I love but still It feels strange to me that when I try to make her feel good in return, she usually stops me. She says it feels good but she doesn't want it.

There are various possible reasons. Age, horomones, possible depression (this does not mean she is unhappy.) an underlying medical condition, a side effect of possible meds shes taking, tired, etc there is really no telling. If she still seems happy and tries to make you happy, I seriously doubt she has lost interest. I think you would know if that was the case. I used to not be able to keep my hands off my husband, but we have been together 12 years and i must admit we arent screwing three times a day anymore. We arent going three years either, but sometimes we may go a month. Both of us are at fault. Hes too tired, im too tired, we dont point fingers.
You need to come out and ask her what is going on. Is it normal? For some people, yes.
I'm bipolar and take medicine that makes me not enjoy intimacy. This has made me sad all of my life.
I explained this to my first husband, but he just wanted to "do it" and never showed that I was more than a place to "put it". Forget him being caring. .no hugging or kissing or anything. Why bother, he asked.
My husband now doesn't know the truth because I don't want him to repeat what happened. I need the make love part, even if the sex part isn't fulfilling.
People have the right to feel happy in all aspects of their lives. If there is a reason why your girlfriend isn't wanting to feel happy or unable to feel happy in any of her life parts, that needs to be dealt with.
You obviously love her enough to care.
