Is it normal my friends never offer a hug and why ?

I used to have friends that'd always greet me with a hug and say goodbye with a hug.
Now, because I'm no longer friends with those certain people for certain reasons, I don't have any friends that want to hug.
It's kinda sad really because with the right person or few people, I really love hugs.
It's what made the friendship really close in past friendships so what's up with people who don't like to hug?
Also, quite a few people I've noticed don't hug properly

Well it depends on the person I guess. My best friend for example has a real problem with hugging and I literally need hugs because they're a great stress relief for me but she rarely hugs me and she rarely lets me hug her. Sometimes she even tells me to stop and tbh I don't really get it? idk it just makes me sad because I just need hugs sometimes so why can't she just at least pretend to be okay with it? idk probably pretty selfish from me to think that way tbh well doesn't matter
But you're right not many people give proper hugs. It's kind of like a half-hug

Who wants to wind up getting sued for sexual harassment? You can thank the #metoo crowd for less hugs and other signs of friendship. Better settle for a "nod of acknowledgement". I bet even soon the handshake will become a sexual attack to some people. "He actually held his hand out and expected me to touch it. I felt so violated. Where is Gloria Steinem?"

I'm not a big hugger, so maybe that person isn't one either. It's not a big deal and it's nothing personal. A lot of people aren't really much into hugging and aren't really affectionate

    Why? Maybe they're doing the same thing! Start off small with a light hug when you first see someone and see what response you get

        But maybe they feel un hug worthy also and think the same about you. That you would just do it if you wanted to.
        
        People ask for hugs all the time. Not to me, but I see people always hugging people.

I get really nervous when people hug me. I shake like a scared little girl tbh.

It would be nice to trust people enough but I don't.

I will only hug a few close friends so maybe you just need to get to know people better. For me it's like kissing basically.

Maybe you should teach people how to hug.

  I had a friend once literally gave amazing hugs! Would wrap her arms around my neck.
  Hard to explain but that's how she hugged if you can visualize it.
  I'd put my arms underneath and hug around the small of the back.
