If this girl is truly just for his friend, then it's odd he's deleting conversations he had with this girl or even having private conversations with her at all. Normally, guys do that wingman thing someplace public where they can jump from one girl to the next, or simply hand their friend a phone number, or name from Facebook to hook up with a slutty girl they don't mess with and uninterested in.
In my opinion, he might be cheating. However, don't sweat it, because as devastating as it will be if he was unfaithful, in the end you'll heal from it and realize he's replaceable; just got to find a better boyfriend. So just continue to be faithful and do your own thing until the truth reveals itself.
