My boyfriend recently told me he is attracted to me, but when he sees a movie with a hot young woman or even talks with a hot young woman (20-25 yrs.) he later has a difficult time having sex with me (we are older).

I am a good looking woman and am in good shape for my age. I think it is something to do with his need for control and being able to control young woman.

He said he is sorry and wants to work on it. He said he is committed to our relationship and wants it to work. I feel hurt and betrayed because he has lied about his attraction to me and seems to be pretending with me. Should I stick with him? Please press normal for yes. Thanks!

    Sooner or later, I think this man is going to hurt you. It would be a completely different scenario, if he enjoyed looking at younger women, but could be passionate with you because you are his woman; the one he wants to be with.
    I've always been able to enjoy looking at or even flirting with other women when I was in a committed relationship, because my gf/wife knew that she was my number one gal, totally. Sometimes when we were out together, my gf/wife would even point out a particularly attractive girl, she thought I'd missed. It was a sort of foreplay?
    I would never have risked what I had for a piece of strange, and they knew it, so there was no reason to be jealous or worried.

      It's so nice that we can live in a time now where we can make that choice and not be socially ostracized for it.

      Things were different a couple of decades ago. I think that's why my mum stayed with my dad and tolerates him. She grew up with the belief that if you make a promise to love someone, you stick with them, even if they make you miserable. It seems like madness.

    No man grows out of being attracted to twenty something women, or even those in their late teens, but hopefully he also grows into being attracted to those in higher age groups as he ages too. If he's only turned on by women 20-25, then no woman could ever keep him happy long term, because we all obviously age. I think most men with a healthy sexual outlook are attracted to all sorts. I'm in my early 30s and after coming out of a long relationship and struggling with depression, I've recently started putting serious effort into dating with surprising success and I've enjoyed the company of a 23 year old and a 47 year old.

    At least he is being honest with you about his attractions. Even if it hurts you to know this he isn't hiding it from you. You do however mention that he has lied about it, this could probably be because he was scared to hurt you.

    But, it is an issue when he has trouble getting turned on by you ... I can't imagine how that must feel.

    I'd also be worried in your position, worried enough to take a serious ponder regarding that relationship . You deserve a man who loves you AND desires you.
