Is it normal my black employees always be "shucking and jiving"

Whenever something goes wrong with my business and I try and root out the problem, my black employees always be, "shucking and jiving" and "hemming and hawing" instead of taking responsibility. I employ a lot of urban youths and I try and instill a solid work ethic and finding pride in a job well done but so often that is met with resistance. I do have one employee I definitely see going places in life. She lets me know who screwed up and she is really good with numbers so I am teaching her the accounting side of the business. Is it normal so few of today's urban youths lack a healthy work ethic and rarely own up to their mistakes?
