I've noticed a trend in apparently straight men miraculously turning gay once a powerful wealthy man shows interest in him.

The most obvious contemporary example is Tiger King in which John realises that his gay boss Joe Exotic is wealthy and conveniently simultaneously realises that he is sexually attracted to him. Of course when Mr Exotic lost his fortune Johnny boy was off like a shot to impregnate a woman.

Another example is Jeffree Star whose ex-boyfriend had never been interested in men until this male rising star and millionaire showed interest in him and suddenly he leaped into bed with Jeffree proclaiming that, "gender doesn't matter!". Convenient.

Previously the straight men in these situations did not actively seek out the wealthy homosexual's affections or bother with a pantomime of romantic love. In the first century when Emperor Nero married the eunuch slave Sporus it was known that Sporus did not return his love.

is it normal I think we need to acknowledge and name this phenomenon of men suddenly "realising" they experience homosexual attraction when there is power and money to be gained. Perhaps homo$exual? Please share any stories of homo$exuality you have encountered.

      These were the only two who sprang to mind, but with most first world countries now allowing same sex marriages (as they should) the age of the homo$exuals is dawning.
      
      In a way I admire them, a rich gay has far fewer options than a rich straight man so the homo$exuals will fill a gap in the market. As I said earlier the homo$exual shares a moral compass with the straight female goldigger.
      
      If they pick their targets well they’re almost entrepreneurial, especially as many gays have a “straight guy” fetish.

  I consider “gay for pay” more of a sex worker or porn star category, I think there should be a separate term for a straight man willing to fake a full on gay relationship. Granted “homo$exual” is only a beta-type word and only really works in written text.

      It would be interesting to see some interviews with homo$exuals once the relationship was over asking them to what degree they thought the romance was real. Hopefully some day.

Some men will totally go gay if there are desperate, example: prison, isolated mostly men communities.

Others it can be more of a taboo fetish then anything else, I'm not gay but I like watching gay porn, because its decidant because I'm not into dudes sexually or romantically but because of that divide I find pleasure in that porn. I imagine well off men got bored of sex with women and tried to "change it up" even if they arent actually gay. It's for the taboo not the sex itself.

    I dont know, I've only recently came to this conclusion for myself, and since I dont think I'm the first person to have this type of fetish (if you can even say it's a fetish) so I really cant place an actual statistic here. Though doing something you arent suppose to do is a rush for people, so the same for porn cant be overlooked as a possibility.
    
    I dont judge. I do judge when people are adamant and descriptive about fetishes that obviously do exist and are just trying to gross people out such as people with scat fetishes and other generally gross fetishes to the standard population.
    
    Probably something in the hardcore and bondage section. The more dirty the better, for the same reasons of the taboo nature. I hate softcore and vanilla gay porn, but I enjoy straight vanilla and softcore porn. Lesbian porn is the most popular porn genre so it's not even counted in the gay category.
