While it is the most ethical choice to go vegan-- let's not pretend that buying meat and dairy isn't supporting a system that enslaves and kills innocent animals, separating mothers from babies, etc.-- I can understand that it isn't a choice that is possible for everyone. I do not think a person is morally flawed for eating meat or dairy, because it is so normalized and often more readily available than a more ethical diet. (And, no matter what, it is very difficult to be entirely ethical. Lots of clothing, for example, is produced by workers receiving very low wages, almost working in slavery). Perhaps raising the minimum wage will have the added benefit of helping animals.
