Is it normal it bothers me that art can never be a true representation of our world?

To pick a show at random, let's say "Full House." Now, Full House can never be entirely accurate as a representation of our world (all nonsense aside), because however much the characters might reference the real world, they can never reference their real world selves or the show "Full House." Joey will frequently do impressions of characters from other shows, but can never reference a show as popular as Full House - he can never do an impression of Joey Wheeler, for instance. The family can never sit down and watch "Full House" on the tv. It reminds me of that long, drawn out court scene in that Dostoevsky novel where the attorney keeps quoting other novelists and poets from Russia but never once does he quote anything from a Dostoevsky novel - yeah, referencing the novel in which all this stuff is happening would be weird, but you'd think he could at least reference another work of fiction by Dostoevsky, and it would be believable.
