It's normal. I am in the business and have had two or three guys who were virgins call me and go through with the appointments. I took my time and really formed intimate connections with these guys so that they would not feel empty afterwards. In my experience though paying for sex is a preference and if you prefer to pay for it then it's ok. No one can force you to pay for it and no one can force you to have sex for free if you don't want. As long as no one forces you to have sex for money with someone else then takes your money then it's all good.
