  • I never really got that most of my cousins don't like being called African American(me neither) because there is no connection to Africa.

My cousins prefer to be called black Americans(me I identify as a Black/Hispanic American).

I can't speak for other black people born in America but most that I know besides my cousins have different opinions on the topic.

        • I think that term was used in the 1960's and 70's but somehow fell out of usage.

              • I didn't know that I thought people still called blacks negros(black) but I see why most blacks don't like being called negro.

Why? Because it's crazy how some English people are obsessed with a Spanish word. And how it sounds is to close to the other word.

But I guess I learned something new today.
