Is it normal i wash my hands every time before putting in a tampon?

I dunno if I'm just paranoid about infection or what, but I practically always wash my hands thoroughly with soap and water before inserting a tampon. Sometimes I feel weird in public bathrooms because I'll wash my hands then walk into a stall...I don't see other women doing this.

    NORMAL! I always wash my hands BEFORE anything to do with my vagina and adjacent bits.

    yep. this is a good idea. others are too lazy i guess... lol I think if you read the instructions in the tampon box it'll say to do this.

    Most people's hands are the most unclean, bacteria carrying part of their body, so yes, wash your hands before and after.

    That's what they tell you to do in the directions, it's not a high risk but it is good practice.
