Is it normal i want to belong to a real life scooby gang?

I’m not the biggest Scooby Doo fan in the world, but it has always appealed to me, and I think it would be cool to have a group of friends willing to go to spooky places with you. There’s a YouTuber called The Carpetbagger, who goes to a lot of interesting places, many purported to be haunted and/or have a creepy history.

I’m a bit on the fence about the supernatural being real, but belief wouldn’t be required, just going to these type of places is enough.

I’m sure you could find someone on this site willing to be the dog.

I like to keep Scooby doo the way it was from my childhood. A fun cartoon, one of my favorites.

Real life Scooby doo would just be a bunch of paranormal-obsessed wackos that camp out next to abandoned buildings, talk about urban myths and try to provoke ghosts by chanting rubbish in latin and I'm pretty sure nobody is gonna take a dog along for the ride either...

And at 3AM, someone, probably a very bitter senior citizen is gonna call the cops for suspicious/ gang activity around an abandoned building and our mystery solving gang is gonna have to leg it.

The thing I never understood about scooby do is like... they're not solving mysteries on purpose, that's just happening because they tend to find spooky mysteries wherever they go. They're not a band or anything, they literally just drive around aimlessly all the time and live in a van. How do they get money? I've never once see them get paid for solving mysteries and nobody would hire random transient kids to solve mysteries anyway.

It would make sense like josie and the pussycats and Jabberjaw had bands... Scooby do gang is just a bunch of vagrant kids living in a van

It’s sounds pretty fun to go to spooky places. I would if I wasn’t a chicken.

I find it sad when people are obsessively wishing to live in a fictional world or to discover something ‘supernatural.’ There’s a whole real world out there that you should be living in, instead of trying to find ghosts and shit.

The locations don’t necessarily have to be haunted. For example it could somewhere like Spahn Ranch

Depends on the van... Most are slow and ride terrible.
The only cool European van is the Sprinter.

Sadly we don't get V8 vans on this side of the pond...

Mercedes Sprinter 319s ride like a dream, specially with a suspension seat and will easily do 180kmh fully loaded (110mph)

We clearly have very diffrent taste in Van's. This is not a conversation that will end well. I'll just keep walking

Hey, I'm actually interested in what vans you find cool. I love a good chat about cars. For me the choice is Sprinter, cause it's big, fast, I could turn it into a camper without much work, it's comfortable and reliable.

But stuff like the A-team van, or T1 VWs are also cool, but their prices are going up like crazy.

Don't think that just because I don't like a certain car, I wouldn't talk about it, or respect someone who does. Unless that car was a Fiat Multipla, or the first gen A-class...

Dude sprinter vanz are the very worst for rvs! I like the classic Van's. My coworker has this minivan thing that's half minivan half cargovan and I'm in love with it. I have to get the name of it from him so I can buy one when I get my license. I donf care re my motley about speed it sleek looks. I like the old fashioned stuff best to be honest

Don't know... I watched a guy on youtube build a caravan conversion for his F150 he could put in the bed whenever he needed the truck to be a camper and then take it away when he needed to use the truck as a truck. He likes a challenge and I like a good challenge too.

After all, I did restore an E24 6-series BMW and went to hell and back replacing tons of relays and redoing the electrical system before the damn thing ran like it was supposed to XD

Plus, I like how the Sprinter looks like and small bonus... German made Sprinters have much better build quality than the American ones...

American vans are cool, but stupidly expensive in Europe. You're better off settling for a muscle car. My dream muscle car is the 1959 Plymouth Fury. Tailfins were awesome!!!

Anyway, my Sprinter camper dream will probably remain a dream, cause my true love, when it comes down to recreational vehicles are boats.
Why settle for a conventional RV, when you can settle for one that goes on water...
For the same price of a premium RV, you can buy an old yacht. Do a fair bit of the maintenance yourself and you got it made. As long as the hull is in good condition and doesn't rust, you can do a lot yourself to keep costs down. Even installing a new engine is a task you could handle with a few mates for help over the weekend.

That's the ultimate retirement dream for me anyway...

But hey, good luck with getting your license and future van.
