If everyone tripped, it would not just bring everyone into a universal mind. There would be some insanity and chaos as well for several reasons.
1- Some people have over inflated egos that they would be unwilling to let go of and could possibly start getting violent while tripping
2- Some people have drastically different views and are from a vastly different perspective than the majority of the population. While tripping, these people may simply head off on their own, unusual tangents.
3- Not everyone would experience the same trip or perceive reality in the same way. Acid is a very individual drug whether you think it is or not, a trip is first and foremost a PERSONAL experience.
4- Some people may have a bad time on it and possibly not view the experience in a positive light which could lead to problems for them.
I cannot say exactly how this scenario would turn out, but it would not be like you think it would be. Also, there would probably be much more drastic changes than you are thinking and society as we know it may no longer really exist
