In other words, yes, it is normal to some extent. Is it ideal? No. Is it something you should accept now that you have noticed it? No. You should at least make a little effort to save them, even if just soaring an alarm and calling for help. You don't need to sacrifice yourself, but doing nothing is wrong, especially if you know, like now you do, that most people will also feel the same drive knowing someone else could do the job. If you witness a disaster of this nature, call for help yourself! Additionally, you also sound like you may be experiencing chronic depression or another related condition. Looking for help might be a good idea, even if it turns out not to be the case.

    • People have come to this conclusion on several different things I posted. How does this sound like this one sound like depression though?

      • You said you may have a near death experience and find it ordinary. This sounds to me like the kind of apathy a depressed individual may feel. Chronic depression tends to be predominantly apathic and less severe in intensity, without the more well-known crises of anguish that are characteristic of major depressive disorder. Though, of course, this is just one possibility.
