  • Yeah, wine is like dark chocolate, especially red wine

You don't buy a bottle to drink as fast as you can like you don't buy a dark chocolate bar to stuff in your mouth and chew

Red wine has tannins, which gives it that dry sour taste as well as what helps you get intoxicated. You drink wine in sips and savor the taste, and really lose yourself in that moment between holding it on your tongue and feeling your mouth dry out and letting any lingering residue tingle your taste buds

Maybe the wine you had had too many tannins, but that's like complaining your dark chocolate isn't sweet enough. While you should definitely give wine more chances, this is what wine is and if you were expecting to gulp down some grape flavored liquor then you surely have come to the correct realization that this expectation was wrong

    • OP needs to try MD 2020. A delightful wine truly meant to be savored by the most discerning palette.

        • That was going to be my first choice but then I read that they are now malt based and no longer a wine based beverage. The change had something to do with tax laws. So sad. I used to enjoy Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill about 30 years ago. It was so delicious especially when served with with McDonald's french fries.
