Is it normal i think western civilization is past the "fixing" stage?

I felt like we dropped the ball. We let our society's become a melting pot for everyone else instead of putting ourselves first with a guiding ideology.

Race issues. Most people aren't bad but the more racially diverse we became the more vulnerable we came to groups of other races that formed extremist groups and then demanded we run our lives how they wanted us to, and it's working. Our institutions like the education system openly teaches "the white man" as the villain of all, companies bow to these activists and spit in the face of everyone else.

LGTBQ. How stupid do we feel now? Back when the LGT part was being normalized people said it's a slippery slope, they'll be after our kids next, and we all thought they were crazy for thinking such a slippery slope exists. Now what do we have? Trans people pushing their insane crap onto kids, it's being pushed on them by the education system, and in some parts of the world if you try to safeguard your child against it then you run the risk of having your child taken from you.

Every day I look at the news and see us continuing to fall down this hill all because we refused to say "No" at any point during this "acceptance" stage of our history. IIN?

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

    • I imagine they're referring to involuntary schooling, and how refusing to school your child can have the government take your child away. It's not really a problem in the States, but in some countries, homeschooling your child is illegal.

  • I used to think the same way. Then I mellowed out about it. Since hot topic issues will always float up to the top of discussions and at this point we are practically astrologers looking up at massive political entities and thinking that we can predict the outcome. Its above us at this point, the political game is too complicated to be fun anymore.

    • I love that you describe yourself as "mellow." Never have I ever seen a more egregious missuse of a word, but I'm guessing you don't know what it means to begin with.

      Laughter is happening.

  • I don't think societies ever get fixed, as such. They tend to follow an arc. Rise and fall. It's happened throughout history.

Western society seems to be in the fall now. It's not as dramatic as it sounds - it could take 100s of years of very gradual, fairly boring changes. But I do think we're on the wind down.

  • So which civilization do you think had a better form of government, and what was it, that you wish to change too?

  • If you think about the best way to destroy a country from the inside it is everything that is happening now. And ppl wonder how we could vote for someone insane like Trump. I believe that there are too many Americans that have woken up to the direction we are going. We will see how the election goes.

  • It will fix itself.

  • You could definitely fix it. It just would take a lot of work that most people aren't willing to bother with. Although, I wouldn't say we're worse off than the eastern cultures.
