Is it normal i think the super rich and a-list celebrities are disgusting

I just saw some pictures from the MET gala last night, and I suddenly felt sick to my stomach. A bunch of ultra-privileged people partying in clothes and jewelry worth millions just because they have managed to get famous (many of them not even for a real talent they have) while literally more than a billion people don't even make more than maybe a couple dollars a day. Even in America, the richest country on earth, there are millions who don't get to eat properly. It's so disgusting to me. What makes those handful of people at the MET gala, or Grammys, or Oscars, so superior to the rest of us? Why do they get to hold on to mountains of gold while the rest of us have to share the pebbles?
It makes me sick to my stomach.

Those people are there coz they worked hard to get what they want. They didn't whine that why I am sitting here masturbating while those celebrities are on TV,like you are doing now.
It just seems like you are jealous of them

Awfully testy are we? I'm just pointing out what I see. We have politicians who only work for special interest. We have psychotic mass shooters. Let's not call it God or religion then if that binds your panties a little to hard. All I'm saying is there is a lack of morals in society. It's why no matter how rich some people are, they still wanna make a bigger pile. This is just my opinion and honestly I don't give two shits if you agree or not.

If you stop watching them and find something productive to do with your time it will stop bothering you.

    • Are you suggesting only less than 1% of humans work hard and the rest are all lazy commies? No. Many people work hard all their lives and end up earning virtually nothing compared to the super rich. It's not about that at all. Most of them are born into extremely wealthy families in the first place anyway, so their spot as successors of their parents is already ready before they even start walking. Tell me that's fair. And the minority that are self-made are just extremely lucky. Tell me there are just a handful of people as intelligent and hardworking as today's self-made billionaires such as Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates in the entire world. No fucking way! There are maybe thousands of people with even better ideas that are unfortunate enough to have been born in 3rd world countries where you're worth nothing. So they never even get a chance to try and fail. They're doomed from the start. So yes, I think it's more about luck, which is a lot rarer than we think it is.

This is normal, but you're just jealous of them.

It's not like there's someone who just chooses random person on the street to make he/she rich and famous. They worked hard, gained skills, became famous, and got what they deserved. People don't randomly get famous. They work for it. There's a reason why they are famous.

Plus, it's not like that they don't help others at all. At least for what I know, many celebrities and rich people spend plenty of money for charity and helping poor people. You can't possibly ask them to donate 99.99999999999% of their wealth and live like a normal people, since that's not fair for them; they should get what they deserve *while* trying to help others. Those are their money, not yours, and they should have the right to control their own money, right?

They earned those money because of reasons. Because they worked. Because they learnt. If you have the same level of skill as them, whatever skill it is that made them famous, you can be like them too. They are privileged because they made themselves that way.

True, some of them are born into rich families. But you shouldn't feel sick about that, really. You're still just jealous. It's not like they asked for being born into a rich family, although I'm pretty sure that everyone would if they can. They didn't do anything wrong.

In addition, if they're really *celebrities*, they still need to work very. very. hard to get to the point they are now. You're just jealous...I suppose...

But that's the way the world is. It's not fair. It is impossible to be completely fair. If you really provide the same condition for kids with rich parents and kids with poor parents, it isn't fair for the rich parents, because they worked for their money, and they should be able to use what they earned on their own child.

Your comment is not only naive, but completely irrelevant. Sidewalk guy wants to short the market on heavy margin with a downside price target that will at least double his money. Of course diversification is important. He owns a possum farm, whatever that is, as his primary cash generating investment. Timing is everything with a strategy like this. Risk / reward can be adjusted with out-of-the-money puts.

      shortins kinda risky

id rather just sequester myall moneys outta indexes and into bond funds then buy back into indexes on the dip

im also positioned well for an oil price resurgence

Sounds good, but remember that when yield to maturity on bonds rise, the price goes down. I moved 2.0 from the S&P into the Russell 2000. My rationale was that multinational large caps will get hurt the most by a Trump's trade talk. Small caps will not be affected as much. So far, the Russell 2000 has been outperforming the S&P. Ticker symbol IWM, if want to consider a position.

Fair enough. And I apologize for being rude as well. I guess I feel the two are more closely linked but I understand that others have a different world view. At least we can be civil. Have a good night.

Sadly this has been the case for thousands of years and I doubt it will change any time soon. You just have to accept it and be happy with what you've got.

I don't hate rich people but there is definately too big of a gap in wealth in the U.S.

Money doesn't concern me tho. I prefer a simple life and yes, you can lead a simple life with money but being poor is fun too.

Yes sir. The third generation of wealth brings corruption, misery, debauchery, and ruin. That's because 'them thar' hired parents forget the importance of building character by forcing the kids to work in the family business mopping floors, and cleaning toilets.

You raise an important principle of management.

This is no utopia we live in, it isn't even a meritocracy. You play with the hand you are dealt.

    Life isn't fair.

I find myself grateful that I have the means to access sites like this & more importantly three square meals a day plus a place to call home, because there have been times in my life where I haven't.

God is being kicked out of Western civilization and things are slowly turning to shit. No big surprise to me. When left to our own devices, without any fear from the almighty, greed and gluttony take over. Back to the Dark Ages I guess.

You sir, have expressed a typical plebeian opinion. The ultra rich are better than everyone else because they enable society to create wealth, something That few plebeians understand. Celebrities deserve hundreds of millions because of their beauty, sexuality, and appeal. We the 1% know that you feel good watching them on TV. When you feel good, you are easily influenced to buy our products. So we pay them millions because they persuade you plebeians to waste millions.

Your jealousy actually sounds more like ignorance. Invest in the stock market if you want a comfortable retirement, and have a nice day.
