It is true that the government will not waste their time and money for robot squirrels on a small time dope dealer. They leave that for the local police. The government sticks to bigger fish to fry such as large amounts (such as many kilos) of dope, opiates, cocaine, etc. being smuggled into the country and across the boarders, or bigger scale drug ring operations, which is sometimes done out of someone's house. But, it does not sound like you're doing anything like that. So, I'm sure that you were either seeing real squirrels, or you were hallucinating.
