I think its better to not think about yourself here. Think about what you can add to another person's life, not as their slave, but as a person who really is there for them on every level you can be. When you really invest in people they see that, and most often will respect you in return.
You won't get bored of a person when you really deeply care about them, and the only way to do this is by putting yourself in their shoes.
People make friends at every age.
If you have any hobbies, I would seek spaces where people with the same one are likely to be, maybe even where the hobby is done depending on what it is.
Best of luck!
Thanks for this great, long explanation :) Thing is, I do try and put myself out there with some people I'm keen to get to know. I often try with failed efforts. How can I be there for someone who doesn't even let me be there for them? If you know what I mean. In most cases its me getting in touch with someone, asking how they are, it's me inviting someone to hang out e.c.t. I don't have them wanting to get to know me or wanting to hang out from time to time or messaging to see how I'm doing. I start to care/ show an interest and it fails. I feel hurt because I'd do anything for someone I care about. I like to be there but I can't be there if no one talks or tells me their problems. Only people that want to hang out are guys which I almost always decline as I know they're just after sex. The girls on the other hand, don't seem the slightest bit interested in establishing anything :/ Its just lame.
IIN I think the older you get, the harder it is to make friends?
