Your idea works in theory, but is impossible in the real world.
Here's what will actually happen:
*Lanes are built for the trucks to travel on exclusively.
*Because there are few trucks on the road in comparison to automobiles, people will see the lanes as being mostly empty and say "HEY! If automobiles could use those lanes, it would reduce traffic!"
*Gradually the restrictions or enforcement against automobiles in those lanes are reduced and we are right back to where we started.
Not if they have a sign saying not to go on that lane. I actually have seen this once before but that was only one city. I do not see this thing a lot but its seems like it would be so much safer.
IIN I think that we should have a separate lane for just trucks?
